The GHSA Headgear Mandate Raises the Standard
GHSA has established approved headgear requirements for sanctioned flag football competition. Players must wear soft-shell protective headgear or protective headbands that meet specific safety standards, including independent testing and a Virginia Tech Helmet Lab 5-Star Safety Rating.
